Affiliations to Academies and Institutions

Confrestauro: Lorenzo Carmassi has been appointed by President Alberto Rui as Confrestauro’s Delegate President for Sicily, reinforcing the studio’s active role within a national network dedicated to the conservation and enhancement of historic architecture. Founded in 2023, Confrestauro brings together companies, architects, restorers, researchers, and specialized professionals working in the field of restoration. Of particular relevance is its relationship with ICSC — the Istituto Centrale per il Sostentamento del Clero — the central body operating alongside the nationwide system of diocesan institutes connected to ecclesiastical assets in Italy. This places Confrestauro in direct dialogue with one of the broadest and most influential heritage systems in the country: the historical, religious, and real-estate patrimony linked to the Catholic Church, deeply rooted in the civic and cultural life of Italian communities and potentially opening important fields of action in conservation, maintenance, enhancement, and adaptive reuse. Alongside this, the association has developed a broader network of agreements, conventions, collaborations, and institutional relations involving bodies and partners such as Valore Italia, VirArt, Kermes, ANACI, Assoverde, Confindustria, and INBAR ETS.

Accademia Nazionale di San Luca: Established in Rome in 1577, the Academy has included among its members some of the most influential artists and architects, such as Bernini and Borromini. Massimo Carmassi is listed among its Accademici Nazionali in the field of Architecture, confirming the studio’s connection to one of Italy’s most authoritative cultural institutions in the arts and architecture.
